Welcome to Mobile and USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park! We're proud that the Historic Naval Ships Association is coming back to Mobile after an absence of 25 years. We hosted the conference in 1969 and again in 1984 when CAPT Bill Diffley hosted the event.

Battleship USS ALABAMA (BB-60) was one of the five Founding Members of our association then known as HINAS. In 1966, ALABAMA joined with MASSACHUSETTS, NORTH CAROLINA, OLYMPIA, and TEXAS to create what we know today as the world's third largest navy with more than 175 vessels worldwide.

Our 2009 "Back to Basics" conference will again feature a dual track with one track highlighting ship preservation. HNSA Preservation Chairman Joe Lombardi has a core of solid sessions to cover many of the perplexing problems facing historic ship operators.

Our concurrent track features sessions that will give our participants solid information and material to cope in this tough operating environment. Topics to be covered include basic operational challenges as visitor trends, fundraising, marketing, branding, disaster management, collections, partnerships, and volunteers with others to round out the agenda.

Room Rates (Single or Double Occupancy) are $ 105.00 plus 14% tax per evening starting on Saturday, September 19, 2009. When calling for reservations, please mention Historic Naval Ships Association for this rate. This room block and rate expire September 5, 2009.

Limited free on-site hotel parking is available. Across the street is a parking garage operated by the County, offering secure, covered parking. Parking is offered at $7.00 daily.
