The Coast Guard Foundation, a 501 (3) c, supports the men and women of the United States Coast Guard by providing programs that enhance the quality of life for service personnel and their families.
The President, serving as the chief fundraising officer, is responsible for all fundraising efforts for the Foundation. As the Board currently desires to significantly expand the Foundation's fundraising efforts, the President will be the architect of any re-structuring necessary to achieve this goal.
We seek a highly credible, proven, proactive professional in fund development able to build and lead a comprehensive development program. Experience may have been gained in any type of not-for-profit organization or educational institution. The President must have a successful track record of personally identifying, cultivating and soliciting major individual and institutional donors. It is essential that the President possess the diplomatic and personal skills to work effectively with the Board, donors, volunteers, Coast Guard Academy, officers and friends of the Coast Guard Foundation. Special event experience is essential; capital campaign experience and a national perspective is a plus.
He/she must possess the highest level of personal integrity and ethical standards. Excellent team-building and leadership skills are essential. Ideal candidate will be personable, approachable and appreciative of the Coast Guard tradition. The President must also be willing undertake significant travel. Bachelor's degree required.
