Our 2023 HNSA Conference Was Great! Thanks, USS Slater! To View Sessions, Click "Annual Conferences" above and scroll down to the links. (Must be a Member to view.)What is HNSA?Since our first meeting in 1966 the Historic Naval Ships Association (HNSA) has connected the public with historic ships from around the world. These ships are living memorials to those who served and are being lovingly preserved to educate and inspire future generations. 1. Support the preservation of historic naval vessels by advocating for and promoting our member organizations, 2. Identify best practices and resources, and 3. Serve as a networking and information hub to link our members. HNSA's membership includes naval ship museums and memorials around the world as well as individuals, businesses and organizations that support the rich culture of significant historic naval vessels. Join Today! The Benefits of MembershipBeing a part of HNSA offers the satisfaction of helping to preserve historic Navy, Coast Guard and other vessels that have participated in the defense of their nations. Individuals and points of contact from Industry Affiliate and Fleet Members have access to member-only content, the opportunity to network with colleagues and enthusiasts through our social community. Other benefits include an invitation to attend our annual conference and our quarterly e-newsletter, Anchor Watch. 2023 Conference is Over - Start Getting Ready for 2024 Symposium in San Diego hosted by USS Midway!HNSA organizes an annual conference (which we now call a Symposium) for its fleet and members to foster collaboration and exchange knowledge about the historic ship and museum community. The symposium offers opportunities for networking, learning, and sharing best practices or new ideas on topics related to the preservation, interpretation, and operation of historic naval vessels. HNSA welcomes participants from all over the world who share a passion for naval history and heritage. We are open to any suggestions for topics to cover, papers to present or activities to enhance the interactive purpose of the symposium. Our Content Committee Chair this year is Meghan Rathbun, Executive Director of Battleship Cove in Fall River, MA. Send your ideas to her at [email protected]. Our "Call for Papers" usually comes out in late winter. What's going on with your ship? Maybe it's something about which the rest of us would love to hear! |
