Ocean Technical Services (OTS) began in 1984 and is a full service, nationwide marine surveying and consulting company. While working at Boston Fuel & Transportation Company as a licensed wheelhouse tug master aboard the coastwise tugboat, barge and tanker fleet, Joe Lombardi began getting requests to lend his expertise to surveying projects.

OTS initially focused on New England’s yacht and commercial hull market, but relationships with large marine underwriters in Boston, Philadelphia, New York and London expanded the company’s reach. Recently, OTS has experienced significant growth in the Charleston, SC and Houston markets. We can assist with your marine project, anywhere in the United States or overseas. Chances are we can help with international projects as well.

“I love the variety of assignments, be they pleasure or commercial craft, shipyards or waterfront property. The fellowship experienced over the years is another facet of this profession I have come to appreciate and enjoy.”

Ocean Technical Services is qualified in U. S. Federal Maritime Court as a marine surveyor. OTS maintains memberships and associated memberships within the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS), Historic Naval Ships Association (HNSA), U.S. Naval Institute (USNI), Society of Naval Architect & Marine Engineers (SNAME), and the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC).
