Taylor Marine Construction is involved in steel fabrication, industrial piping, concrete construction and pile driving on land as well as on water. They also do submerged piping installation, cofferdam design and construction, bridge construction, diving and salvage and barge transportation.
Mr. Julius Taylor, Jr. is the founder of Taylor Marine Construction, Inc. Upon graduating from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, he gained valuable experience working in aircraft repair, chemical plant maintenance and engineering and heavy civil construction on the East Coast, Gulf Coast and Saudi Arabia. In 1985, he founded Taylor Marine Construction, Inc. in Beaufort, North Carolina, and has since expanded operations to Wilmington, NC and Houston, TX. He is a licensed professional engineer in the sates of North Carolina & Texas.
In 2006, Julius Taylor III joined the company, serving as Vice President. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, and subsequently served in the Navy, specializing in Nuclear Propulsion, Surface Warfare and large ship operations. He is also a licensed captain, holding a Master of Steam or Motor vessel, Any Gross Tons-Oceans, with a towing endorsement.
The company’s management & lead foremen, some of whom have been with Taylor Marine for more than two decades, have over 150 years combined “hands-on” experience in steel fabrication, industrial piping, concrete construction and pile driving on land as well as on water. Taylor Marine Construction, Inc. is well suited for work on marine projects that require piers and docks with additional mechanical equipment and piping as found on tanker loading/unloading facilities, as well as container crane foundations and crane rail work.
