Open:  April 1 – October 31, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and November 1 – March 31, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Closed: Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day

The USS Constitution Museum serves as the memory and educational voice of USS Constitution by collecting, preserving, and interpreting the stories of “Old Ironsides” and those associated with her. This award-winning non-profit provides an environment where inter-generational groups seeking an enjoyable and educational experience can have fun while learning and exploring history together. The Museum’s mission is to engage all ages in the story of Constitution to spark excitement about maritime heritage, naval service, and the American experience.

Located in the Charlestown Navy Yard, across from “Old Ironsides,” the USS Constitution Museum is a must see for everyone visiting Boston. Interactive galleries let visitors of all ages explore the legacy of USS Constitution, America’s Ship of State. Furl a sail, holystone the deck, and face the enemy in battle when visiting the exhibit All Hands on Deck: A Sailor’s Life in 1812. Learn the causes and impact of the War of 1812 on our nation in the 1812 Discovery Center. Come explore the how a young nation launched a legend in the Forest to Frigate exhibit. Enter the 1790’s to follow the story from the forest in which Constitution’s timbers grew to her launch as a fully formed frigate. Decide for yourself what kind of ship to build and test your shipyard skills.
