On 29 Feb 2020, CDR John A. Benda, USN, relieved CDR Nathaniel R. Shick as commanding officer of the USS Constitution at the Charlestown Navy Yard in Charlestown, MA. CDR Benda, becomes the 76th commanding officer of USS Constitution, the world’s oldest commissioned warship afloat, which played a crucial role in the Barbary Wars and the War of 1812, actively defending sea lanes for the United States from 1797 to 1855.
