T46 was commissioned in 1956 and decommissioned in 1975, the last year for the Motor Torpedo Boat System in the Royal Swedish Navy. With her V-shaped hull she represented the most developed and modern Motor Torpedo Boat type. The T42-class (T42–T56) were built during the years 1956 to 1959 at the Stockholm Naval Shipyard and at Kockums in Malmö. T46 is today owned by “His Majesty the King’s Motor Torpedo Boat Club T46“.
The T46 was bought and restored into her original shape. Luckily, a complete stock of spare parts was found and handed over to these enthusiasts. T46 was overhauled and equipped in Karlskrona and made her second maiden voyage in spring, 1987.
T46 is on display in various harbors on the east coast of Sweden during the “Motor Torpedo Boat Season” i.e. summertime.
