The Los Angeles Maritime Museum is happy to announce that Guadalupe Pena began work as the new Curator in January, 2020.
A Southern California native, Lupe earned her M.A. in History from California State University, Los Angeles. She has curated several exhibits and developed educational programs for the Banning Residence Museum in Wilmington, CA, and was a member of the collections staff at the Museum of Latin American Art
in Long Beach, California. Lupe also assisted with the installation of “Taminaru: A Day in the Life of a Japanese American Fishing Community” at the L.A. Maritime Museum, which has proven to be one of the Museum’s most popular exhibits.
The Museum is thrilled to have Lupe on board, and she is looking forward to meeting everyone at a future HNSA conference,
