Being a part of HNSA offers the satisfaction of helping to preserve historic Navy, Coast Guard and other vessels that have participated in the defense of their nations. The options for HNSA sponsorships and memberships follow:

Individuals Joining HNSA (renewed annually)

We've simplified the joining process to create one Individual Supporting Patron level. You are the lifeblood of our missions in support of historic ships around the world. Memberships make great gifts, too! 

For payment, we can accept major credit cards on this website or you can select "invoice me" and pay later with a check. Also, outside the website, use your PayPal account to send money to @hnsatreas. Finally, if your bank supports Zelle, send money directly to our account from yours using ID [email protected] as the recipient.

You'll still receive a membership card to use as identification as a HNSA supporter when you visit our ships and museums for possible discounts, depending on the location. A table of current discounts offered can be found here

Individual Supporter-Patron - Our Minimum support level: $35 (Fleet paid staff or official volunteers: $25)

  • HNSA "member" card for use in identifying your affiliation with HNSA
  • Free or reduced admission to more than 70 vessels

Once a member, you can support the historic ship fleet with an additional contribution. 

What does your contribution go towards?

  • education opportunities to strengthen knowledge in ship preservation, museum studies, youth programs, and more.
  • scholarships for representatives from the smaller ships to attend the annual conference to build their knowledge and ultimately help their organization and ship.
  • educating the public and agencies on the importance of our industry through economic impact, youth programs, veterans outreach, and more.
In exchange, for your generous donation:
  • For support above $100, we will send you a special lapel pin showing your support.
  • For support above $200, we will send you the pin PLUS a coffee mug.
  • For support above $1,000, you will receive complimentary admission to the annual conference.
  • For support above $2,500, you will receive complimentary admission to the annual conference PLUS invitation to the executive director reception and your name listed on the front page of the website as a HNSA Blue & Gold Patron

Some of you may remember our Life Membership option - we no longer encourage Lifetime memberships. Be assured: all current Life Members remain in that status on our rolls.

Industry Affiliate Memberships (renewable annually)

If your organization, company or agency's objectives are compatible with ours, you may be interested in becoming an Industry Affiliate Member of HNSA. Affiliates benefit from preferred marketing placement in HNSA media and as participants in our annual conference, depending on the level of sponsorship. The minimum sponsorship for Affiliation is $105 US.

If you want to become an Industry-Affiliated Member, contact Ryan Szimanski at [email protected] for more information or click below and select "Affiliate" as your member type in the online application. Each Affiliate Company or Organization may designate up to four (4) Key people ("Fleet Contacts") as important points of contact (POC). We recommend the organization's Commander, President/CEO or Executive Director be the primary POC, but at least one of the "Affiliate Contacts" should be the person who handles the finances with HNSA. Affiliates at any level are invited to participate in our annual conference with their key contacts. 

If, as an Industry Affiliate Member, your organization is interested in SPONSORING a part of our HNSA activities, especially events like the Annual Conference, first, call or email our Executive Director at (866) 877-6262‬ (ext 202) or [email protected] . Eventually, you can fund your sponsorship through a check or through our Donation portal on this website. 

 

Fleet Memberships (renewable annually)

All Nonprofit Historic Ships and Maritime Museums open to the public are eligible for membership in HNSA, to participate in our annual conferences, share in our communications and notices about best practices in ships renovations, maintenance and visitor management, and to be part of the governance of HNSA. 

To become a Fleet Member, contact the Executive Director at [email protected] or click below and select "Fleet" as your member type in the online application. Fleet Member dues are determined by annual revenues as reflected in your Form 990. The appropriate tier is input by the HNSA Treasurer or the Executive Director when your online application is approved. All our International Fleet Members' dues are set at $105 US regardless of revenue or ship size.

Each Fleet Ship/Museum may designate up to four (4) Key people ("Fleet Contacts") as important points of contact (POC). We recommend the organization's President/CEO or Executive Director be the primary POC, but at least one of the "Fleet Contacts" should be the person who handles the finances in regard to HNSA. Others might be Curators or Lead Educators who would benefit from the networking our website enables.

Fleet Members at any level are invited to participate in our annual conference and are automatic members of the General Meeting. Sponsorships are available through the Executive Director. Especially important to the conference are SCHOLARSHIP sponsorships which allow us to fund more junior staff or volunteers to attend.
